Zoe Peters is a Graduate from Loughborough University School of Art and Design, with a BA Honours degree in Multi-Media Textile Design. The Multi-Media course at Loughborough is considered to be at the cutting edge of textile studies and has received both national and international press acclaim for innovative design and art conclusions.
It was at Loughborough Zoe developed her innovative portfolio and her own individual way of working.
"My work is all about experimentation. I like to treat my fabrics like a canvas, filling them with structure, using pattern, colour and texture, manipulating them into a form of their own. I like the fine detail achieved using digital design and I simply choose to manipulate my work through the use of different tools and media, conveying a handmade impression, a quality which has been lost through the overuse of the digital image."
"It is through experimentation and the desire to find ways around traditional methods that unintentional mistakes have led to new techniques evolving."
"It is my love of beautiful things that inspires me, whether I discover this in an old tea set or in weathered, peeling paint found in the ever changing city. Fundamentally, inspiration is all around us, we just sometimes need to look a little harder to find the beauty."
